Project Description

Discrit is an art education initiative that furnishes the Atlanta public with free programs that foster experimental thinking and conversation in contemporary art and culture. The 2019 Idea Capital grant will fund Discrit's 2020 slate of free seminars, screenings, panels, lectures, and curricula.
While the contours of each event are to be determined (most will be planned in concert with our to-be-announced line-up of guest collaborators), Idea Capital’s contribution will ensure that each program is free of admission, our guest lecturers and workshop leaders are paid fairly, and each program will produce bold, boundary-redefining artistic and intellectual material suitable for an audience of both art insiders and folks new to the field.
